Xfinity Center boasts an incredible sixteen parking lots, all free of charge, for their guests! Thatâs almost as exciting as the events they host, right? To make things even better, enjoy a picnic on the lawn or a tailgating party in your lot before your concert.
If you do choose to tailgate, Xfinity Center wants you to remember a few golden rules:
Any tents must be no larger than 8 x 8.
All emergency aisles must remain clear.
Consumption of alcohol in public, as well as public intoxication, is cause for immediate expulsion from property.
Tailgating must end no less than thirty minutes prior to the beginning of event and will not be allowed once event has ended.
All tailgaters are responsible for cleaning up their area prior to leaving.
As always, be respectful to those around you. Disorderly conduct can easily lead to a guest being denied admission or asked to leave the property.
The Xfinity Centerâs amphitheater in Mansfield, Massachusetts was brought to realization in 1986, as the Great Wood Center for the Performing Arts, an outdoor venue with a seating capacity of 12,000. At the time, an outdoor venue was sorely needed. It became one of the busiest venues in the New England area, hosting eighty or more concerts a season. Over time, more venues popped up in the area, causing the Great Wood Center for the Performing Artsâ concert numbers to drop as low as thirty-five. It was time for a change!
In 1994, the amphitheater was expanded and boasted a seating capacity of 19,900, with 7,000 reserved seats, 7,000 lawn seats and 5,900 general admission seats. As time went on, the business changed hands more than once, becoming the Tweeter Center for the Performing Arts on July 9, 1999, the Comcast Center on June 4, 2008, and finally the Xfinity Center in January of 2014. Shortly after Comcast acquired the venue, it was named the top grossing amphitheater by Billboard.
The Xfinity Center remains a favorite among fans, drawing thousands of people from all over the country each season. Guests enjoy easy parking in one of the venue's 16 designated lots, concessions and beverages inside the venue, and permission to tailgate prior to the event. (Please see tailgating rules in the Venue Rules section.) The amphitheater also has a killer screen display, so every seat is a great one.
For guests relaxing in the lawn area, blankets are allowed. Food in a clear bag, as well as a sealed bottle of water, is allowed.
There is no smoking in any of the reserved seating beneath the pavilion.
For a more enjoyable experience, please see the venue rules regarding acceptable items, as well as alcohol ID policy.
